I love showers.

Ok, I know that sounds vaguely weird, so let me clarify: I love taking showers. Long ones. This is probably not very unusual at all, and in fact it's kind of a cliche that I love taking long, warm showers. I don't think there are too many people who DON'T enjoy doing this.

But the main reason I love taking showers is because it acts as a sort of therapy for all my problems for the whole day. I just like the idea that I physically wash away all my problems in the shower, scrubbing a minor argument from behind my ear, or cleaning sadness out of my bellybutton. Or, as the song says, washing someone out of your hair. And I feel like all my bad thoughts are released when I turn on the faucet and then flow out with the dirt into the drain.

Of course, the problems never quite go away. But at least I'm levelheaded for a little while. And when things get bad again, I take another shower.

- My cellphone ringtone is Barbie Girl. On my pink Razr.
- I have an unabashed love for Janice Dickinson, Tyra Banks, Liza Minelli, Liz Taylor, and Brenda Dickson.
- I follow America's Next Top Model and Project Runway pretty much religiously.
- I have Britney Spears' and Madonna's greatest hits on my iTunes.
- Actually, I'd say about 60% of the music in my library is either thumping house music, disco, or European pop music.
- I have a crippling addiction to amaretto sours, aka what is arguably the gayest drink ever.
- I own Breakfast at Tiffany's, Showgirls, Mommy Dearest, and I Know Who Killed Me on DVD. I have seen Showgirls no less than 8 times.
- Some days, when I feel special (and by special I mean drunk), I smoke Nat Sherman Fantasias. You know, the cigarettes that come in red, pink, blue, and green with the gold foil filters.
- I'm addicted to the terrible, terrible teen drama Degrassi. (<-- actually, this one just makes me a 14-year-old girl.)
- I'm taking a class on musical theater.
- For Christmas, Diana gave me a book called "Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys."
- I totally want to adopt an Asian baby! (Ok, I don't think that actually has anything to do with being gay at all, but I want to put that out there. If I don't somehow get knocked up before I'm 35 [in or out of wedlock, whatever], I'm totally getting one.)
- I'm getting fucked in the ass. By Princeton, that is.

Ways in which I'm not a gay man:
-The whole vagina thing.

My spring break consists of me eating crackers and peanut butter and beer for dinner, reading my research for my 20-to-25-page Junior Project, while my best friend is whisked away on a fabulous date in New York City consisting of fancy dinner and a Broadway show (that is closing in 2 months, natch).

Not that I'm jealous or anything.

Morrissey - We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful

(In all honesty, I wish my friend the best of luck. :P)

In other news, I apologize for not updating in forever and a half, as I've been ridiculously busy with midterms and the usual Princeton-ness of it all.

Well, that and coveting shoes I can't possibly afford.

Now, motivate me to read more about identity malleability before I have my own identity crisis.

I am in love with this dude's hair.

And for that matter, this dude's eyes.

...Carry on.

Ok, so for today, I went with something a bit more conventional. Marlon Brando? Was hot. Pre-1960's Brando, of course. He wasn't that hot by the time that The Godfather rolled around. But as Stanley Kowalski, he just exuded a raw sexual energy in A Streetcar Named Desire that makes you want to melt into the ground. On the other hand, you have the redeemed bad boy who turns out to be a sweetheart in On the Waterfront, and the teen rebel in The Wild One, the playboy in Guys and Dolls... *swoons* He was beautiful. Too bad beauty doesn't last.

I've decided to just make this a daily feature for the week, seeing as how it's Valentine's Day on Thursday and all.

So anyways, I don't know much about the actor, John Krasinski, other than he graduated from Brown, which my best friend told me while he was e-stalking people. But I do know about Jim, the character he plays on the US version of The Office. And I know that Jim would probably give the best cuddles ever. He's basically the guy that everyone is talking about when they list that they want guys that are "cute, sweet, and funny". And I'm totally fine with that. Your parents would probably love him, kids would love him, and he'd probably bring you chicken soup when you were sick, but he'd still make fun of you if you tripped on your ass.

The Boy Least Likely To - Be Gentle With Me

On a completely different note, I think I would like a pair of heart-shaped Lolita sunglasses. Especially this pair from Screaming Mimi's. Partly because I am in need of a fresh pair of sunglasses and partly because of my ongoing love affair with all things Nabokov.

One day, I am going to marry Eugene Hutz from Gogol Bordello. And I will listen to him ramble about purple ladies and pogo sticks in his crazy gypsy-Ukrainian accent all day long. Maybe we'll even fuck shit up. And you can't stop me.

I want to escape the Northeast. Today is gray and cold and lonely. Today I want to change my name and run away to Costa Rica or Brazil or Cuba, somewhere where the tropical heat would allow me to forget the bitter chilliness of January and everything I left behind.

Y quiero traerte conmigo.

Pictures from Mexico and Puerto Rico I forgot I had:
